This outstanding itinerary includes the contrasting main cities of Greece, Thessaloniki in the north, and Athens in the south. Added to this program is a magnificent 7-Day Cruise (Piraeus - Istanbul - Mykonos - Patmos - Kusadasi - Rhodes - Heraklion - Santorini - Piraeus), with exceptional island and regional stops throughout the week. There are plenty of onboard activities to enjoy as you sail the turquoise waters of the Aegean Sea. The itinerary provides for arrival and departure through Thessaloniki.

Day 1

Thessaloniki City, Kavala City

Kavala Port

The group will arrive in Thessaloniki. Our coach and guide will be at the airport to await the clients and then drive to Kavala. Check-in at the hotel. If time allows, there will be an orientation tour of town, with its typical houses in the old town and possibly a walk up to the castle. Overnight Kavala.

Day 2

Kavala City, Athens City

Tempi Valley Bridge for Pedestrians

Depart early in the morning for Athens along the National Road, via the famous Tempi Valley. Arrival in Athens late afternoon. Possibility for dinner at a fish taverna in Mikrolimano, a charming little port of Piraeus. Overnight Athens.

Day 3

Athens City, Corinth City

The Corinth Canal

In the morning after breakfast, depart for an orientation tour of Athens with our professional guide, passing by the most important ancient and modern monuments of town. Stop at the foot of the Acropolis for an extensive visit of the site, as well as the New Acropolis Museum. After a walk through Plaka, the old quarter of Athens, time for shopping and lunch in town. In the afternoon, depart for a drive along the coastal road of the Saronic Gulf for a visit of the famous Corinth Canal. Possibility for dinner at a fish taverna in Mikrolimano, a charming little port of Piraeus, or for an evening with Greek folk dances and Bouzouki music. Overnight Athens.

Days 4 - 10

Athens City, Piraeus Port, Mykonos (Island), Patmos (Island), Rhodes (Island), Crete/Heraklion (Island), Santorini (Island)

Departure for the cruise

In the morning after breakfast, transfer to the port for embarkation on your 7-Day Cruise of the Eastern Mediterranean. This exceptional and relaxing cruise will call at Istanbul, Turkey; Mykonos; Patmos; Kusadasi, Turkey; Rhodes; Heraklion, Crete; and fabulous Santorini. 7 overnights on board.

Day 11

Athens City, Lamia City, Larissa City, Thessaloniki City

Arrival at the Port

We will pick you up upon disembarkation at the port for the drive to Thessaloniki, along the National Road, via Lamia, Larissa and the Tempi Valley. Upon arrival in Thessaloniki, we will tour the town and check-in at the hotel. In the evening, you'll have an opportunity for an evening out at one of the Bouzouki clubs in the Ladadika area. Overnight Thessaloniki.

Day 12

After breakfast, transfer to the airport of Thessaloniki for your departure flight.

If your choice is by rented car, road maps are provided and a guide will be waiting for you at the archaeological sites/museums, wherever this is needed.
