Hama is an old city in a rich agricultural region. It was rebuilt as "Apamea" by Seleucus Nicator I in 300BC and flourished during the Roman and Byzantine periods. It also figured in the Mohammedan conquest and the wars of the crusaders. It was the home of the famous Arab historian Abufida.
Apamee Cham Palace has 200 rooms and suites.
It features two restaurants, one bar and one oriental lobby bar; it also features a business center. There are Banquet and meeting facilities for up to 220 persons. The guests can enjoy the outdoor swimming pool, the tennis courts and a large parking. It is the only five stars hotel in Hama.
