A four-star hotel located right in the heart of Heraklion, the Galaxy offers deluxe accommodation and outstanding facilities year round. A major renovation took place in 2008, with an upgrade to all accommodation and public spaces. Excellent dining facilities and the largest hotel swimming pool in the city are certainly two important features of the hotel, but the amenities in its guest rooms will not be surpassed by any other hotel of its class.
In addition to the swimming pool, with surrounding sun terrace, pool bar, sauna, and lovely garden, the hotel features two restaurants, one at the pool bar, and the second main restaurant. The lounge offers drinks and gourmet snacks until the late hours.
All guest rooms feature elegant European design with luxurious furniture and fabrics, fully-independent climate control, spacious desks with enhanced connectivity, complimentary Wi-Fi and wired hi-speed Internet and satellite plasma TV. Premium Egyptian cotton bed and bath linen (including duvets and bathrobes), slippers, select bath amenities and safe boxes are standard. In addition, the rooms have mini bar, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer and bathroom phone.
The hotel has an excellent fitness center with steam, and there are a variety of conference facilities for 10 to 200 persons. For golfing enthusiasts, the hotel is affiliated with the Crete Golf Club, situated 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) east of the city.
