Exclusivity, elegance, history, tradition ... just a few words to describe this outstanding accommodation perched on a thousand-foot cliff overlooking one of the most spectacular views in the Mediterranean.
The mansion that forms the nucleus of the Tsitouras Collection was built in 1780. Over the centuries, it has served as a school, post office, and private home, and is now an exclusive hotel. It was renovated in 1985 by the famous collector Dimitris Tsitouras, who converted it into what are now six units, each with a separate theme and name, all demonstrating his personal style and respect for the Greek tradition.
These Houses have a capacity of between two and five persons, and are named after the unique collection highlighted in each one: The House of the Sea, the House of the Winds, the House of Portraits, the House of Porcelain, the House of Nureyev, and the ultimate TC Villa, with three bedrooms and private swimming pool.
Features such as the domes, vaults, interior windows and skylights characteristic of Santorinian architecture are combined with tasteful, elegant decoration, modern furniture, antiques and some of Tsitouras’ private collections of objets d’art, including ancient amphorae, Byzantine icons, old maps, mariner’s chests, paintings, etc.
Each House has its own complementary wet bar and CD player with a special CD collection, 32" satellite LCD TV and DVD player, direct-dial phone, air conditioning and safe deposit boxes. All bathrooms are in white Greek marble and fully equipped with hairdryers, bathrobes, slippers, etc. Twice-daily maid service is provided, as are beach & pool towels.
The hotel is famous for its quiet surroundings in harmony with nature. Throughout the years, some of the hotel's most famous guests have been Gianni Versace, Moschino, Joan Kennedy, Jack Lang, Demis Roussos, Harvey Keitel, Nana Mouskouri, and many others.
In line with its exclusivity, lunch and dinner can be selected from the hotel's exceptional menu, or as a private 6-course dinner served on the fabulous Maria Callas Terrace. Mediterranean cuisine is offered, with the emphasis on fresh seafood and fish. Alternatively, a private menu can be arranged in consultation with the chef. To ensure maximum privacy, this arrangement can only accommodate one party at a time.
The magnificent pool and terrace are featured at the mansion, and there is a private boutique onsite.
