Hotel Helmos was originally built in 1922 on Platia Eleftherias, an historic location, as the square became the first meeting point for the leaders of the revolution for independence, on the 21st of March 1821. This revolution led to the establishment of the Modern Greek state and is celebrated since then as Independence Day of Greece.
The hotel was totally destroyed during the Second World War occupation, in a period that tragically marked the history of the town of Kalavrita. It was rebuilt after the end of the war and stayed open till the early 90's. Radically renovated and refurbished, Hotel Helmos opened in December 2005 to offer a first class service to old and new clients alike.
From the outstanding exterior renovation to the excellent interior spaces and smartly styled rooms, the hotel offers exceptional comfort and service. There is a lovely breakfast room, veranda area outdoors, and main bar and lounge in a cozy setting.
In total, there are 22 guest rooms, 4 Junior Suites, and 2 VIP Suites. Every accommodation has comfortable anatomic mattresses, ceiling fan, direct-dial telephone, safe box, color satellite television, Internet access, and private bath with hairdryer. The suites also have air conditioning.
The hotel has indoor conference facilities for up to 120 persons, and their banqueting facilities can accommodate up to 500 guests in their outdoor garden.
