Welcome to Platamonas!
At the southern-most end of the 45 mile long Pieria Coast, just south of Skotina Beach (Paralia Skotinas) and Pandeleimonas Beach, we come to Platamonas Beach Resort. Pieria Coast starts right after the Aliakmonas river mouth and runs southwards alongside Rieria Prefecture to Nei Pori Resort, the only resort on this coast to the south of Platamonas Beach. One can admire the view of the miles-long (Platamonas literally means 'long beach') Platamonas Beach from the train rather than the National Road Athens-Thessaloniki, as the railroad goes alongside the forested coast. The beach is so long it could never get crowded; there are rooms and apartments for hire, hotels and camping sites under the impressive silhouette of Platamonas Castle.
