Sandanski

Sandanski is a town in Bulgaria, 173 km south of Sofia and 22 km of Kulata, the cross-border checkpoint with Promachonas, Greece. It is on the E-79 motorway, at an altitude of 220 meters, along the reaches of the Sandarska Bistritsa river, which flows through the hillside at the foot of the Pirin Mountains. The surrounding is very attractive, in the sunniest part of Bulgaria, surrounded by parkland extending over close to 170 ha of lovely scenery. The region has a wonderful climate, known since antiquity as the best place for the treatment of bronchial asthma. Additionally, there are springs of curative mineral water.
