Ioannina Weather

The city of Ioannina is the capital of the district of Ioannina. It occupies a rocky promontory jutting into Lake Pamvotis, opposite the foot of the precipitous Mt. Mitsikeli. The busy and friendly town lies at 520 meters (1580 feet) in the midst of a plain divided between pasture and the cultivation of cereals and tobacco. To the east and southeast of the town rise the highest peaks of the Pindos Mountain Range. The yearly average temperature here is 16 C (60 F), summer average (July-August) 25 C (77 F), summer peak 33-34 C (92 F), winter average bottom temperatures 2-5 C (35-36 F).
